Prints for Sale
through DeviantArt.com
I'm working on getting this together as a blog so I can actually update without going into the actual html of each page. Unfortunately, it's a slow process as I'm still learning some of it as I go.
That's it for now--just a short update!
Monday, you can find me doing some demo spinning at the Hilltop Farm Fest in Suffield, CT. I'll also have a few skeins out for sale. Come enjoy the beautiful weather we're supposed to have, and check out the awesome vendors & demonstrators who will be there with me!
More new yarns are coming; I just haven't been home when it's light out enough to photograph them.
As you can see, the page is lacking a bit of everything right now. I switched hosts a little while back, and when I realized that meant I had to move every single piece of artwork all over again, I decided I didn't want to do that only to change it within a few months. I've been planning a makeover for the characters art & stories; I think the new version will be much prettier and easier to navigate.
In the meantime, there are places (linked above) where I update on a very regular basis. My blog is mostly fiber & yarn-related, though major non-yarny things get mentioned there, too. General news and art discussion, new prints announcements, and such can be seen on my LJ. Finally, specific art works, thoughts, and the like are chronicled on my journal through DeviantArt. I also own a gallery called DivineBird, but it's been stalled a bit due to the indecision on my part over what to do with this site.
For now, please PLEASE leave a comment in the guestbook to let me know you've stopped by, or drop me a line at this address and tell me if you'd like to be on my monthly newsletter's mailing list. Specify if you would rather be on ART or YARN, or if you'd like to be on BOTH. Depending on how much I have to say, I may just combine the two, but if I have a lot of interest for one or the other, I'll separate them.
That's it for the moment, my dears. I had a wonderful time at CTCon, made some great connections, got to see some folks I hadn't seen since last year, and all in all it was a blast.
OH and if you're looking for photos, they're only on my Flickr page right now. I have a ton more of other cosplayers, too, but at least now you can see me hanging out with my husband, friends, and webcomic artists. :D
Thanks for checking in!
Titanium Tweed--Merino/silk/firestar from Abby's Yarns. 314yards, 2.3oz, 30wpi
Chlorophiliac--Wool/mohair from the same source. 150yards, 2oz. One ply is mostly solid green, the other ply varies from aqua to lime to green to blue. This yarn is for sale!
Check it out. :D
ETA: Yes, I ended up putting it in the sidebar, too. XD Couldn't help myself--it's just a perfect spot for it!
Sadly (for me at least), art hasn't turned out to be the 'thing' for me as far as employment goes. There are too many variables to work with, and my training, skill, and personality haven't really jived with the demands that full-time art requires. On the flip side, that has resulted in what MAY become the RIGHT job for me. I'm almost afraid to say much more until I see some return for it, but rest assured you'll know about it when I feel more comfortable. :)
The decision to continue MR and SC was mostly for my sanity. I have all these characters running around in my brain, and sometimes the only way to make them stop is to draw them out. If you choose to buy a print or commission a piece from me, by all means, please do, but I am no longer pushing them as I once was. Naturally, every little bit helps, especially until my tentative venture plays out.
The site meter tells me there are still people stopping by here. That makes me incredibly happy. I only ask that you sign the guestbook (a "hey I like your site" is fine, more would be loved) or leave me a comment on deviantart to say you've been here. Sometimes I wonder if it's just the spambots checking out my site!
See you again in a couple of weeks!
The next few weeks will be pretty critical for me, as I should know soon whether or not I will get a job I'm really hoping for. In the meantime, I will be working on new pieces for Merchant Road and Southern Currents, as well as some independent art and fanart for the site. I have a lot of textile projects in progress, too, so you'll see some new work from me one way or another.
As always, thank you all so much for hanging in there. Feel free to contact me one way or another, whether it's to see what I'm working on currently or just to give me a kick in the pants from time to time. ;)

My yarn swifts have taken off nicely, which means that I spent a lot of time in the wood shop just to fulfill orders. I have since accomplished that, only to be commissioned for several knitting projects and a few small art projects. They've added up, and that makes me happy.
All this, of course, leaves no time to work on my updates. I apologize and will still work to get something up soon. It's killing me that I can't work on my own art, but making a living comes first.
